These are really good cans for less than 20 bones--let alone 10! They're closed-back, and have decent (but not mind-blowing) isolation. The driver shells and headband are *entirely* plastic, so they're probably not the most durable 'phones in the world, but they're hardly what I would call "flimsy" (which is much more than I can say for most flat-folding cans). And they're actually pretty good-looking when worn, which was a pleasant surprise. They're a little big, but not clunky. As for fit, I have a rather "tall" and narrow face, and I think they're really comfy. But head shapes differ, so you'll need to sort that one out yourself. For the money, though, you don't have much to lose.

On to the important stuff--the sound. They're pretty bassy--remarkably so for the price. Bass is not super-extended or super-articulate, sadly, but all in all, it's really not bad. Sure, I'd like more, but then I'm a bit of a basshead. The bass eats into the mids a bit, but the mids are definitely present, particularly the upper mids. There's a midrange resonance in there somewhere (as they are closed-back, after all), but it's not a distracting amount. Highs, well, they're pracitcally nonexistent. If you're a gamer, or you're looking for crisp, sparkling crystal clarity in your music, these definitely aren't for you. But their mellower sound also means they're very forgiving with crappy sound sources (like low-bitrate MP3's). The warm, laid-back signature also means they're not very fatiguing, which is good for long listening stretches. For me, too much treble can get exhausting real fast.

Basically, if you're looking for a cheap, warm, relaxed-sounding set of cans with a respectable but not overwhelming amount of bass, you ought to try these. For the price, they knocked my socks off....

I bought these for my daughter to use at school in the listening room. I'm not sure what headphones they use to listen in there, but she felt very icky using headphones that have been on the ears of dozens of other kids. They are far more comfortable than I expected and the sound quality was very decent. Unfortunately, the headphones do not fold as well as I would have liked. Overall, this is a great deal if you're looking for some budget headphones that sound good and are comfortable....
