Jabra M5390 Multiuse Bluetooth Wireless Headset and A335w USB Dongle

One headset for mobile, desk and PC based telephony

The Jabra M5390 Multiuse headset is a Bluetooth headset that connects simultaneously to mobile phones and desk phones - or to mobile phones and PC softphones (via the enclosed PC dongle).

The Jabra M5390 Multiuse headset combines the sound and range performance known from office headsets with the convenience of a mobile headset. Based on next generation Bluetooth technology, it offers true wideband audio when used with the A335w dongle or a soft phone. And the extended wireless range allows users to answer calls up to 70 meters from their desks.

The design and wearing style is optimized for office staff, managers and specialists who spend most of their time in the office - and less on the go. For optimum call clarity in loud office environments, the microphone is placed close to the users' mouth and features noise canceling technology. When out of the office, the Jabra M5390 seamlessly connects to the users' mobile phone or PC based softphone.

The Jabra M5390 Multiuse base is compatible with most desk phone systems, and the dongle is compliant with a wide range of PC based softphones including, Cisco IP Softphone, Skype etc.

I have had this for a little less than a year and I love it. I can answer either my office phone or cell phone using only one headset. The range is great and so is the sound quality. I can walk to any of the 4 offices in our office suite without dropping the call or decreased call quality. It is nice to be able to get up and walk around while on the phone and also to be able to type and work on clients policies while I am talking to them on the phone....

so far I like it. Noise canselling works, but it's not perfect. also signal range is far less then 70 meters, I'd say 20-30 meters which is still enough for me. I use it with skype...

I specifically purchased this device to be used as a softphone with my company's VoIP solution (Microsoft OCS / Office Communicator). I was a little disappointed that in order to use this device with your PC you need to use the USB dongle (which I'm sure I'll probably lose eventually) and it was a little diffcult to pair with my headset. It was also a little concerning that the USB dongle isn't even made for that exact headset, but another Jabra headset (a cheap way to make the headset compatible as a softphone I guess). That being said, after a week or so I'm finally getting the hang of how to know when my device is paired correctly and how to configure my headset for things like VoIP, audio, and different online conferencing services (Live Meeting, GoToMeeting, etc.). Once the device is actually paired correctly and you know how to use it, the device is amazing! The headset has excellent audio quality, the range is amazing, and the noise cancellation is incredible. Overall I would recommend this device for what it does (audio, cell phone pairing) but be a little cautious when it comes to using this device a VoIP softphone....
