Koss Scanner Headphone Red Isolation

Passive Noise Reduction Stereophone System Isolates Listener From Ambient Sounds

Ideal For Use With Racing Scanners and Metal Detectors

Single Entry, 8-Ft Coil Cord

Includes 2 Replaceable Velcro Strap Headbands

The Koss Race Tracker stereophone is an extra-durable stereophone that delivers amazing passive noise reduction. Like the QZ99, the Race Tracker was initially designed for use with racing radio scanners and metal detectors users, and provided a behind-the-head headband design. Since then, the Race Tracker has become a favorite for a wide range of listeners who need to cut high levels of ambient noise and do not want the constraints of a conventional headband.

I purchased these headsets for two reasons..1. first NASCAR race at Bristol 2. to use while cutting the grass. They work great on both. I love that the cord is long. This way I can have my ipod in my pocket and the cord actually reaches when I stand up. Also love the volume on the side!! My father is currently trying them out when he bush hogs the pastures. He said he gets board and he also likes to stand up while on the tractor to give his fanny a rest. That long cord will allow for him to do this. It really reduces the noise. At Bristol, I thought that it wasn't that loud when they cranked the engines on without the headsets but when they stared going around the track it was NON STOP the headset were back on....LOVE THEM, LOVE THEM!!!...

Considering that these headphones are less than $40, they're a good deal; but don't expect anything too robust. The sound isolation is comparable to a pair of ear-plugs. General in-room sounds and ambiance (fans, televisions, conversation) will be muted, but the headphones aren't isolating enough to, say, mute large amounts of noise-pollution. (blaring machinery, construction efforts, discharging firearms...)

The headphones are somewhat comfortable, but do feel a bit bulky as a result of their weight. Slipping them on and off is somewhat of a hassle, since you need to adjust the top band every time. Of course, the rubber cups around the speakers entirely engulf your ears. This is how the headphones isolate you. At times, this can be a bit uncomfortable.

The sound quality is great, but the volume and bass drivers seem a bit low. It shouldn't be a problem if you use them with a computer, which would have a multitude of volume controls and DSP adjustments. The headphones, themselves, include a volume adjustment knob....

They work great. Much better than my other NASCAR headphones. They have very good sound. I enjoy listening to music with them....
