I picked these up cheap on another site, and wanted to share my opinion. I'm a bit of an audiophile so I'm picky about my tunes. Let's just say I can't listen to the radio because it sounds bad to me. I like nice clean sound; not too much bass or treble. I guess my goal is to find some cheap buds that can take the place of my expensive Weston UM2s while I'm doing things that could damage them. Now I can tell you these do not even come close to my UM2 or any high-end buds for that matter. They sound OK, but you need to tweak the EQ to get them there. My UM2s are best listened to with the EQ off or flat. I tested these with my iPhone 3Gs which is not the best device in the world for accurate sound reproduction but pretty good. I used many sample tracks from the following music types. Alternative, Blues, Classic Rock, Country, Latin, Rap, Reggae, and Soul. The music I used for this test was all encoded from original CDs using iTunes MP3 codec at 192 which should be standard for most listeners. One sample SVR: The Sky Is Crying was encoded in a Lossless format and is one I use regularly for testing. With these buds it is hard to tell the difference in quality between the 192 and Lossless samples. That is a bit sad, but is a common problem with many brands. I recommend you use the "Loudness" or "Treble Booster" setting on your iPhone or iPod for the best sound these buds are able to produce. This is true for all of the music samples I tried. Any other setting left these sounding muddy with virtually no highs, or distorted. When using the settings I recommended these actually sound pretty good, but better at high volume. It's like they hide the potential they do have until you crank them up...

The Good:

The price (at least what I paid)

Construction looks good.

Cloth wrapped wire gives them a nice vintage look

Small size

They will plug directly in to the original iPhone without an adapter

Sound is on par or close to it (using my recommended EQ settings) with most buds like Skull Candy

3 cushion sizes for better fit

comfortable

Nice retail box with a hint of "Apple"

Lifetime warranty claimed by the manufacturer

The Bad:

Sound is muddy without tweaking the EQ

Some unverified (by me) claims of poor customer service

Made in China which means material quality and craftsmanship could be questionable (my opinion with some experience to back it up)

Overall:

These are good buds if you can get them at a good price. I would say a reasonable price would be $10 or below. The max would be $15 because there are comparable buds in the $5 to $15 price range....

I originally had the empire ear buds (the ones with the skulls) which I must say were just incredible. But they were not the best for working out so I bought these and I love them. They were exactly what I expected seeing as they were cheaper compared to the empire they were not as great but for $9.99 these earphone had a lot of great features. First their noise canceling, second the cord is not that traditional rubber but a cord like you'd find on a drawstring sweatshirt I especially loves that because I hate when it barely touches you n they fall out of your ears. The sound quality was really good the treble was clear and crisp and the bass wasn't as strong and big as the empire but they are a close second. Overall these are great ear buds I love them and I've been through a lot of headphones and I have to say Wicked is by far my new favorite!...

The trick to using these is to realize they're not intended to fit in your outer ear, as most ear buds do (especially Ipod) but pick the proper size inserts (there are three different sizes) so they go down into your ear canal and stay comfortably. You do that, and they'll stay put until you yank 'em out.

Soundwise, I can't fault them. The highs are high, the lows are low, clarity is excellent. You won't get thumping, chest-pounding base out of them, (of course not! Look at the size!) but you'll hear the lows all right.

As someone else noted, these have a fabric sheath over the wires. I like that - gives them something of a retro feel. Overall, these are the best earbuds I've ever had - and the price is easy on the wallet too!...
