I just can't believe how this earbuds sound. I have tried everything: JVC Gummy, JVC marshmallow, SkullCandy Smokin'Buds and Ultimate Ear Superfi 3. The best earbuds I have are the Superfi, sound is natural and bass sounds normal. The HAFX66 pack a punch in bass, sounds like you have a sub woofer inside your head (could it be the design? or how they seat in the ear?)....but highs and mids are clear, not like the Smokin' Buds bass enhanced earbuds.

Metallica's Death Magnetic sounds without the distortion I hear in the other earbuds, and yes you can notice Trujillo with this earbuds. 80's synth pop comes alive again with this JVC. Haven't tried classical yet.

For the price here in Amazon you got to get one before people find out how good sounding they are. I have seen prices going up...

Update: I bought them from Amazon (different SKU) on September 2008. The left earbud died on Feb. 2009. Called JVC support and they send me a new pair immediately.... WOW!!!! These buds have 1 year warranty....

I really like the sound of these buds. Add the fact that they don't cost very much and it's a good deal.

However, after 1 month of heavy use (daily for about 2 hours), one of the rubber ear buds started to become loose and would fall off sometimes in my ear and other times on the floor. And finally, last night, it was gone... it just dropped off somewhere unknown.

Hope I can get JVC to send me a little rubber thingy...

UPDATE: JVC wanted me to pay for the new rubber fitting. It was something like $20 for 3 pairs... + $10 for shipping and handling.

No thanks. I'll just go buy a new set, though I feel bad for adding crap to the landfill....

I've been using these daily for about three months now. They have a comfortable fit, and a good sound to them. The bass isn't extreme, but it is just the right amount. And the highs come in clearly. Although they can start to get uncomfortable after extended periods (3 hours or more usually). The sound isolation is pretty good. When you put them in, just make sure they are in your ear good and snug. If not, it will sound like there is no bass. Tune the EQ just right, and these will sound excellent....
