The headphones have excellent quality and short of having a 5.1 sound system in the room they are really great. I have a hearing challenge in both ears, one worse than the other, and this headset is designed for people like me. I use them routinely for movies and other TV broadcasting that I want to hear better with the distractions in the room or just reflected sound causing a problem. I would recommend them to anyone needing hearing assistance or to have a better hearing experience....

These are probably my 10th pair of wireless headphones. I have a severe hearing loss and use them for TV and stereo. The sound is very good, the volume is great and the BATTERY LIFE IS AMAZING.....

According to the specs, frequency response is 35Hz - 18kHz. Sound is "OK", but definitely not audiophile quality (in particular, if you care about signal/noise ratio you will definitely want to crank up your receiver's output (see more on this below) and set headphones' volume at the lowest possible level). I should have gotten their IR transmitter only (but I was not sure about compatibility with other IR headphones at that time) - because the plastic the headphones are made of has a very strong odor, especially when stored in the provided case without ventilation (this could be the ear cushions but they are not removable/replaceable)- some plastics have a very strong odor, so I am not overly surprised - but this is only second or third time such thing happened to me in 25 years of using / trying / playing with consumer electronics. I took a risk and ordered several pairs of "Power Acoustik WLHP-100 Wireless Infrared Headphones" (this is not a product endorsement but just practical information). I was overjoyed to discover that PlanetAble's transmitter is fully compatible with Power Acoustik's headphones! Some technical details: My PlanetAble's transmitter is "single-input", so I can't switch inputs, but this is irrelevant for me, because I feed my receiver's headphones' output into the PlanetAble's IR transmitter. Power Acoustik's headphones are lighter than PlanetAble's, more comfortable (for me) but are not foldable as PlanetAble's (the feature I can't care less about). I am using this in a home stereo/whatever system with DVD/HD/BluRay/CD/computer/digital audio streaming. Primary need for headphones is watching movies by small groups of people without disturbing kids who are asleep and without being bothered by ambient sounds / etc. I have no idea about how all this would be good/bad for car stereo/video in a huge SUV with mounted machine guns and a built-in 6-pack storage compartment.
To conclude: transmitter: 5 stars, headphones: 2 stars, compatibility: 5 stars....
