This is my first headset. I'm using primarily for Internet chat while gaming. I wouldn't recommend this headset for a couple reasons:

1) The arm length is NOT adjustable. The arm was lodged into the side of my face and the mic was in my mouth. The mic can be twisted a bit, but to get it out of my mouth I had to twist it so it was pointing straight out. My roommate had the same problem. If you have a tiny head you may be able to wear these properly.

2) The padding on the ears is very unsubstantial. After about an hour of gaming my ears ached from the hard plastic of the ear pieces digging into my ears.

The voice quality (for chat anyway- didn't play music or game sounds through the ear pieces) was fine and the volume/mute controls worked as expected. I'm returning these though because they're unusable on an average sized human male face and weren't engineering for long term use (over an hour)....

I got this headset to replace my pair of Plantronics that finally gave out after 3 years of use. I got these because I needed them ASAP and it was all that the local walmart had available.

Let me tell you, I wish I hadn't forked out 20 bucks for these things. The microphone is decent sounding, I'll give them that much. But the sound these headphones put out is not very good at all. It sounds "tinny" and there is very little bass and very little definition at the lower ends of the sound spectrum. People's voices sound as though they're talking over an old cell phone. If you've ever been in a remote area that only has the old non-digital service then you know what I am talking about.

There are a couple of other things that *really* bother me about this headset. The first has to do with the microphone. The first time I put this headset on, the microphone was in my mouth...seriously. It's attached to the headset via a hard piece of plastic that gives you the impression it's going to break if you bend it. The actual microphone extends from this hard piece of plastic about an inch and is on a bendable cable. Unfortunately for me, I had to bend the microphone out to about a 65 degree angle relative to the plastic attaching it to the headset just so it wouldnt be inside my mouth. But that's not all...apparently this bendable cable the mic is on has some memory properties to it, and returns to it's default position after a while. Not only does this put the mic almost right back inside my mouth, but it also makes it rub against my beard, and kills anyones ears that I'm talking to when this happens.

The second big problem I have with this headset has to do with the fact that I wear glasses. I like headsets with big thick ear pads that surround the ear. If you have sensitive ears or wear glasses, you might want to pass these up. The padding on the ear piece is about as thick as a candy wrapper. They are not comfortable to wear for me after a couple of hours. They irritate my ears and smash my glasses into the side of my head.

Overall they'll do, but as soon as I get enough money I will be replacing them and keeping these on standby.

I play a lot of games with friends over voice chat, and also have flown flight simulators and done the simulated ATC (both as pilot and controller) like the previous reviewer. I also am an audiophile and use my PC to record and edit my own music. For my money, I haven't found a better headset/mic combination than Plantronics. They're just a little more expensive than these but they are WELL worth it. I think I spent 40 dollars on mine 3 years ago, and they were the best I've ever used.

This headset it just not worth 20 dollars, in my opinion. The only thing I would use them for is a standby in case your good ones go out and you have to send it in for repair or have to wait for your replacement to arrive. And there are cheaper ones out there. One that springs to mind is the Telex H 51. I haven't used them but have heard nice things about them, and they should be around 15 bucks. Hard to beat that, if even for a pair of standbys. And anyone in the aviation industry knows these guys. I want to try them myself.

Dont buy these headphones if you're a gamer, wear glasses, or are even somewhat serious about having good sound. There are better buys out there....

I purchased these for work, as I listen to a large volume of recorded calls every day. While the sound is good, the quality of the material covering the earpieces on the headphones is inferior. The first day I used them I noticed little black flecks of paint (or something) coming off on my hands when I handled them. It also comes off on my ears (not good). It's too bad they didn't use a better material to cover the earpieces....

This Bluetooth does a great job of noise canceling. Although the over-the-ear piece tends to slip off, the piece that goes in the ear holds it in place securely. It also holds the charge for a much longer time than other devices I have owned. I also bought the travel case, which is lightweight and a good way to protect this small device....

Pros:

+ Excellent price at $14.99 USD

+ Silicone-rubber buds are comfortable and come in 3 sizes.

+ Wire-organizing clip - starts where the wire splits and can be moved up to the earbuds to draw the wires together, helping to prevent tangled wires.

+ Buds attach very firmly to the base - extremely important for any earbud system or else you'll find yourself buying replacement buds in no time.

+ Very low-profile earbuds - you can lie down somewhat comfortably with these on unlike most earbuds. These are the smallest earbuds I've ever used and that's counting at least 5 brands and 10 models.

+ Micro-sized plug - extremely important for fitting your player into tight places, also helps protect the plug socket on your mp3 player from damage due to lateral pressure.

Cons:

- Not much bass response.

- Wires could be thicker (but no worse than other more expensive pairs).

- Replacement rubber buds are not as cheap as they could be, around $8 for a new set of each size. However, if you carefully save your spare buds and continue to buy the same brand, you'll have backup buds for when you eventually lose one. This shouldn't be a problem with this set as the buds stay on these very well unlike some other earbud systems I've used.

- Doesn't come with the cord adjuster attachment that some other Sony earphones have (a rubber device for shortening the cord).

My Typical Usage:

I wear my earphones all day, every day, so they take a lot of wear, they break often, and I'm not inclined to pay very much for them. An average set of earphones lasts me a month or two. Usually by then I have a broken connection in one of the wires so I'm forced to pick up a new pair....

For a while I had been wanting to retire my apple earbuds and, under the recommendation of many friends, I went to skullcandy. Not only do their products look cool, but they are also great quality. For me it was between the HESH and the Skullcandy SCS-SCM Skullcrusher Subwoofer Multimedia Headphones Black. Lucky for me, I had friends with each. First I tried the Skullcrushers. While the bass was excellent when the subwoofers were on (you turn it on by a switch attached to the cord), it was too overpowering and I couldn't hear the treble. For me, being a guitar player, it was heart-breaking to be able to barely hear the guitar parts and solos to my favorite songs. But, when the subwoofers were off, the bass was almost nonexistent and the cans adopted a tinny noise.

I went to my next friend and he let me try on the HESH. The first thing I noticed was the comfort of the leather pads and headband and the fact that I couldn't hear a word of what he was saying. But that didn't matter, because when I turned on a song, I was treated with a nirvana of screeching guitar distortion, booming bass, thundering drums and mellow acoustics. For the remainder of a song, my friend was inaudible under the music. Not only do they have excellent quality, but they go LOUD. The HESH also look cool with sick silver skulls on the cups and band. The moment I got home I ordered a pair of the black ones.

If I had one complaint it was that the cups could not rotate 90 degrees, but then again, headphones aren't supposed to be heard by a party, thats what speakers are for.

All in all, these headphones are pretty sick. If your a bass afficianado or don't care about your treble, by all means, go with the Skullcandy SCS-SCM Skullcrusher Subwoofer Multimedia Headphones Black, but realize that you won't be able to hear Clapton playing his heart out in Sunshine of Your Love. Alternatively, if you can't stand the over-the-ear style of the HESH, go with the Skullcandy SC-SBB3.5 Smokin' Earbud Black.

These are, by far, the best headphones I've ever owned/heard/seen/head of. All I've really used before were the cheap headphones and earbuds that came with the various CD players and iPods I've owned over the years. Those "stock" headphones weren't terrible, but I noticed lots of distortion at high volumes from all of them and none of them were comfortable. The Hesh headphones are above and beyond all of those. Not only are they super comfortable and light (when I first got the box in the mail, I thought they forgot to put them in the box cuz it was so light!), but they sound GREAT. The first song I listened to through them was "This Calling" by All That Remains at full volume...and WOW...the bass is low and full, the mids are tremendously punchy, and the highs come in loud and clear. If you close your eyes while listening through these headphones it feels like you're in the front row at a concert. Listening to some of my other favorite songs, I even noticed some notes and other parts of songs that I never noticed before. And, on top of all that, they just look awesome!

While these are the best headphones I've ever head, there is one small complaint. At low volumes, the sound seems to become distant slightly. But, at high volumes, the headphones almost force the sound into your ears, so maybe the distance I'm hearing is just the lack of awesome-ness at full volume. The sound cancellation (which these headphones are pretty good at) might also contribute to the feeling of the music being far away.

Minor, MINOR, complaint aside, the Hesh headphones from Skullcandy are an amazing product that not only delivers tremendous sound through a comfortable package, but also look incredibly cool while doing it. I have a good feeling that I'll be using these headphones happily for a long time to come....

I just purchased a Pintech electronic drum set and knew I need a good set of headphones. After reading many reviews and doing some research I went with the SkullCandy (was teetering between this and the AUDIO TECHNICA ATH-M30 Closed Back Dynamic Stereo Monitor Headphones.

After receiving them, I plugged them into my drum module and just loved the sound. Full, rich, clear and loud. Very comfortable.

My only complaint is that the cord is only 3 feet long or so, so if you're like me and using this for e-drumming or studio work, you'll want to pick up an extension cord as well.

Other than that, a great set of headphones.

One funny side-note: within the package is a stencil of the SkullCandy logo which they show some pictures on where to use it, and one of them is to spray paint it on your cat. Funny!...

While I don't consider myself an audiophile, I do love listening to music and am trying out different earphones, trying to find that perfect pair. Earbuds will never match the dynamic range of larger headphones, but the Logitech Ultimate Ears 350 Noise-Isolating Earphones seem to strike the perfect balance between size, sound quality and cost.

The 350s come securely packaged in an attractive black box with photos of well known musicians who use Ultimate Ear brand earphones. While the 350s are likely not on par with the higher-end professional models, they certainly strive to give the appearance of a quality product. In the box you get a snap-shut clamshell carry case, the choice of 5 silicone ear cushions of various sizes, some product literature (including a cool little picture book) and of course the earphones (see the member submitted photos above). These are not overly flashy but they are stylish and unobtrusive. The cord and joining points seem sturdy enough but not too thick or heavy. The 3.5 mm jack is the 90 degree angled variety, not straight off the cord. My ear canals are big so I immediately attached the large ear cushions. The fit fairly snugly, though I wish they were slightly larger. Noise isolation was good, though not as complete as earbuds that use memory foam cushions. If I go for a jog they stay snug for a while, but start to slip when I really start sweating. The clamshell case is nice, but I can see that the already loose latch will wear out over time.

You know you've stumbled across a great set of earphones if you play music you've listened to many times before and hear it in a new way. Such has been my experience with the Ultimate Ears 350. I was shuffling through my digital music collection to test them out and I would find myself lingering on many of the tracks, caught up in the tunes and hearing details in the songs I hadn't noticed before. So far they were performing above my expectations. From classical to blues to tecnno to rock, the 350s handle all kinds of music with aplomb. High volume? No problem! The only slight distortion I ever detected was on some base heavy songs, and that could have come from the source material.

I have Philips SHE9850 In-Ear Headphones with Advanced Acoustics and Rockford Fosgate PP15mm Punch Plugs Headphones on hand so decided to do a comparison. The three headphones have very different characters and the 350s fell right in the middle. By comparison, the Philips SHE9850s are more immediate and emphasize the treble and higher notes, lacking much low-end bass. The Punch Plugs exhibit impressive deep bass but lose a bit in the highs and sound slightly muddy. The 350s hit a sweet spot, with excellent treble clarity that has a warmth that keeps them from sounding harsh. While they don't pack the bass the Punch Plugs do, they have more than...
