I've used the boom headsets for about 3 years now. I've used two different types (1.) the one featured on this page (2) a variation of this one with a wrap around head band. First let me say when using these headsets most people never know I'm on my cell. The quality of incoming & outgoing audio is excellent. I made a conference call in downtown NY and didn't have the 1st complaint of outside noise. You want find better audio quality. Now, the major problem, the cord is weak. They use a thin gauge and doesn't hold up very well or least for someone that travel a lot. I've emailed and talked with the company about this and they were nice enough and listened.

Overall, i would still recommend it for anyone that has to make business call traveling. Just treated it with kit gloves....

My wife and I both have theBoom headsets. I've had mine for a couple years now. She got hers more recently. I'm buying another UMeVoice headset to use with my office landline phone.

There is no doubt that theBoom headsets are the best headset on the market. I've used a number of BlueTooth headsets (4 different models by Jawbone & Plantronics), as well as Apple's wired headset.

TheBoom provides the best sound quality and the best noise cancellation I've found.

Reading some of the "complaining" reviews, I have to wonder if they aren't being placed by the competition. I don't exactly "baby" my headsets. I've dropped them, I've accidentally yanked them around, and I've sat on them. And the have held up to these abuses.

Complaints about the plastic and wiring used just don't match up with my experience. As far as customer service, the company has been responsive to emails and phone calls I've made when I had a question. And I like the fact that they aren't some giant company that uses an overseas call center or endless recorded voice mail maze to deal with its customers. These are real people on the other end, and they cared about my questions and wanted me to be a happy customer. And they did....

Over the past two years, I've spent over $1,000 trying to find a handsfree solution that worked in my very loud modded MINI Cooper. I went as far as installing sound deadening material to bring down the noise. Despite manufacturers claims and even end users who claimed a certain product worked perfectly for them, nothing worked for me because of the excessive cabin noise. And with my 3 to 4 hour commute everyday, being able to stay in touch with customers is crucial to my business.

theBoom is FINALLY the answer I've been searching for all these years.

During my commute home yesterday, I spoke to two people I talk to everyday in my MINI and they know how hard it is to normally hear me with all the background noise. They had NO idea I was in my car. They said it was like I was in my office or parked with the engine off.

I tested with the windows open, with the AC on full blast, on the freeway and nobody could hear the background noise. And like the advertising states--I whispered sentences despite all the noise and they could hear me perfectly.

What I found annoying was listening to the person I called who didn't have theBoom and I struggled to hear them through all the background noise on their end!! They laughed and said it was payback, lol. One caller actually said they loved the fact I had theBoom because all they heard was my voice and nothing distracting. Another caller said that I was speaking too loud and the reason was that I had gotten so used to speaking loud over the noise to be heard! That's no longer necessary and that means I don't have to strain my voice anymore.

The build quality of theBoom seems superb. I know I have the latest version and I have no fears of it being fragile.

Finally as for support--I ordered mine directly from the manufacturer. I ordered it on the evening of December 23, and it was shipped on December 24 and arrived just a few days later. I've been very pleased with their service.

Highly recommended.

One more thing, the earpiece has probably the best and most effective noise canceling circuitry in it, and no it doesn't need batteries to do its magic. It has two mics for the noise canceling. One on one end of the boom for picking up surrounding noise and another near the mic for your voice to separate what's spoken versus what's in the background. A lot of noise canceling ear piece claim they have noise canceling circuitry built in..both my Jabra and BlueAnt ear pieces claim this, but they are so small, there isn't enough separation between the two mics to be effective. So your sound quality suffers. My voice doesn't sound artificial with theBoom and neither do the people I'm calling. The ear gel is the most comfortable ear piece I've used to date and works great to seal out noise.

I use theBoom with my AT&T Tilt Pocketpc. Volume could be a little louder but for the most part it works very well. I have to use an adapter for the 2.5mm headset which initially concerned me but since I can turn wifi and bluetooth off during use, talk times go up significantly on the battery alone....
