Wideband acoustic echo cancellation and noise-cancelling mic

Acoustically tuned digital equalizers for rich, 24-bit stereo sound

Easy USB plug-and-play setup

Installation is easy, just plug in the USB connection and you're ready to go. DSP Technology Offers Clear Calls and Natural Sound

Experience exceptional call quality when you use the .Audio 626 to make VoIP (voice internet protocol) calls using Skype or other Internet phone services. Whether you're on the phone with friends or clients, they'll appreciate how clear you sound, thanks to DSP (digital signal processing) technology. This multifaceted technology improves both outgoing and incoming audio for crisp, natural conversation. DSP technology captures the full voice range and stabilizes the spoken voice by amplifying or minimizing certain frequency ranges. This ensures a more natural-sounding conversation and reduces listening fatigue for the person on the other end of your call. Wideband Echo Cancellation and Noise-Cancelling Microphone

Sound professional no matter where you're calling from. The .Audio 626 uses a two-step approach to remove distracting background noise and improve voice clarity. First, a noise-cancelling microphone minimizes the distractions typically found in a busy home, office, or travel stop. Second, DSP enhances the performance of that noise-canceling microphone by blocking out low-frequency noise for clearer conversations. A central part of this improved sound is DSP's wideband acoustic echo cancellation, which diminishes feedback and reduces speaker-to-microphone echo (a common problem that can affect VoIP calls). Rich Stereo Sound with Noise Reduction to Prevent Distortion

When listening to your favorite band or catching up on games and movies, enjoy an enhanced listening experience that includes rich, 24-bit hi-fi stereo sound provided by the .Audio 626's acoustically tuned digital equalizers. DSP technology also works to prevent the creation of artificial noise or distortion, allowing the .Audio 626 to offer smooth volume transitions that preserve high audio quality. Over-the-Head Design for Comfort and Convenience

The .Audio 626 is a compact addition to your home or office setup. Its traditional over-the-head wearing style, lightweight construction, and soft foam ear pads combine to make it comfortable enough for all-day wear, while inline controls offer quick, easy access to mic mute and volume control. Simple Plug-and-Play Setup

Setup is simple: just plug the headset into your computer's USB port and you're good to go. There's no software to install, no configuration, and no hassles. The Plantronics .Audio 626 DSP PC Headset is backed by a one-year warranty. What's in the Box

With the Plantronics name you would expect this microphone and headset combo to produce good quality sound and it does deliver. The sound is clear and easy to understand what others are saying and the person your talking to can hear you clearly as well. Installation on my computer was a snap. Basically I plugged it in and my Mac found it and started using it right away without any trouble. My only dislike on the product is level of comfort. A previous Plantronics headset I had the headphone speakers were able to flex and move a bit adjusting to the angle of your ears so it was equal pressure all around. This headset does not allow for that (headphone part is attached directly to the band) so its not nearly as comfortable to use for extended periods of time. This might be okay if it was an over the ear design but since it sits directly on the ear and has little padding it gets annoying quickly. If you intend on using these for more than short periods of time or daily I would step up to a better model that offers a bit more comfort....

I bought this headset for use with my Rosetta Stone language software program and for music. I wanted good sound quality without a compromise in the microphone quality. I also demand comfort.

I've had two headsets prior to my purchase of the Plantronics Audio 626. One of them did not have good mic quality. The likely reason for this is that it was not USB. If you want good microphone quality, you absolutely need to buy a headset with USB connection. This is because USB headsets are electronic to electronic sound signals. I can't get any more technical than that but if you want to know more about why USB connection is better, you can easily find articles on technology websites that will provide more details. Both of my previous headsets were uncomfortable for long periods. Actually, my first headset had very little padding.

I began to wonder if I could ever find a comfortable, high quality headset that would fit my budget (I'm a college student). Every time I use this Plantronics Audio 626 I am amazed at what I got for my money. This kind of quality is worth well over $30!

The sound is incre...

I have had this for a little less than a year and I love it. I can answer either my office phone or cell phone using only one headset. The range is great and so is the sound quality. I can walk to any of the 4 offices in our office suite without dropping the call or decreased call quality. It is nice to be able to get up and walk around while on the phone and also to be able to type and work on clients policies while I am talking to them on the phone....

so far I like it. Noise canselling works, but it's not perfect. also signal range is far less then 70 meters, I'd say 20-30 meters which is still enough for me. I use it with skype...

I specifically purchased this device to be used as a softphone with my company's VoIP solution (Microsoft OCS / Office Communicator). I was a little disappointed that in order to use this device with your PC you need to use the USB dongle (which I'm sure I'll probably lose eventually) and it was a little diffcult to pair with my headset. It was also a little concerning that the USB dongle isn't even made for that exact headset, but another Jabra headset (a cheap way to make the headset compatible as a softphone I guess). That being said, after a week or so I'm finally getting the hang of how to know when my device is paired correctly and how to configure my headset for things like VoIP, audio, and different online conferencing services (Live Meeting, GoToMeeting, etc.). Once the device is actually paired correctly and you know how to use it, the device is amazing! The headset has excellent audio quality, the range is amazing, and the noise cancellation is incredible. Overall I would recommend this device for what it does (audio, cell phone pairing) but be a little cautious when it comes to using this device a VoIP softphone....

This review is from: Able Planet True Fidelity Foldable Active Noise Canceling Over-the-Ear Headphones (NC180CG) - Gray

Do not buy these headphones. The sound quality and noise cancellation are good, but the product is poorly made. The earpieces are designed to hug your head. One day, two months after receiving these headphones, I heard and felt and audible SNAP while taking them off. Now one of the ear pieces is broken and will no longer hug my head.

When I contacted Able Planet and sent them a picture of the headphones as requested, they told me the following:

After evaluating the picture, thorough analysis and careful consideration; our warranty personnel have concluded that the damage to these headphones was not due to a defect in material or workmanship, but clearly occurred from improper or unreasonable use. However, in an effort maximize customer satisfaction; we would like to offer you a 50% discount off the list price for the purchase of any headphone on our website or a discount on an open box product.

So they sold me a product which broke after 2 months use, and when it broke, they BLAMED ME! And then they wanted more of my money.

Thanks, but no thanks, I'm buying some BOSE and I'm telling everybody to do the same!...

I really liked these headphones. I think they fit really comfortably over the ears and the Noise cancelling does work pretty well. I really enjoyed the sound quality and the build quality of these....
