I ordered these buds from J&R like the other reviewer, and they are AMAZING. I own the cx-300's as well, and I thought the soundstage for the 300's were superior, but with the 95's, the 300's starts to sound cheap. Bells and whistles can be heard now, which I could never hear before. Some of you may think that these bells and whistles makes no difference, but in overall sound reproduction, it makes a HUGE difference. I have tested these on lossless music as well (Creative X-Fi and FLAC files) and these are the first earbuds I have used where I can tell the difference between FLAC and MP3. This means that these headphone's drivers are so advanced that they can accurately reproduce extremely high quality music.

The bass does take awhile to break in. I have owned them for 4 weeks now and the bass is still getting better and better. (I listen to "Let it Rock" by kevin rudolf alot, it sounds better and better as weeks have gone by). Even without the major price cut that J&R offered, these headphones are completely worth it at MSRP. Do not buy headphones like shure or etymotics, these headphones are overhyped in the market. Sennheiser has always focused on quality drivers, and these are no exception. I am sure within the next 2 years, Sennheiser will create superior earbuds compared to this, but as of right now, these are the top of the line earbuds in the market for the price, and I am pretty sure that Sennheiser will never lose this status.

And I must say this part: what I find most impressive of the design are the bent-angled shaft at the end of each earbud. When the earbuds are in your ears, the wire points straight down now, putting no stress at the junction point of the wire and the earbud, like there was in the cx-300's. Very impressed!

CONS: After all the good, comes the only bad: the cable is about 1 foot from where the jack is to where the earbuds split. Sennheiser did this to make it easier to use devices with in-line remotes etc, but for those who do not use remotes, they include a nice extension cable, that is long. I am 6 feet, and when I am holding my Zune in my hand with my arm straight down and earbuds in my ears, the wire goes all the way to my knees and comes back up to the Zune. I just shove the extra slack in my pocket.

***Also, since the cable is so long, the male end from the short cord to the female end of the extension cord makes an annoying little "blob" thats in your headphone cord, which is usually located above your stomach when your MP3 player is in your pocket. As you walk, this blob tends to start to sway in a left to right motion, gaining momentum, and eventually pulling the earbuds out of our ears. The blob has a nice weight to it, so it is annoying at times, but I try to leave no slack leaving outside of my pocket so that the blob has no room to sway.

Last comment: My suggestion is to ignore the cons, and BUY THESE HEADPHONES NOW. THE SOUNDSTAGE IS UNBELIEVEABLE, and the BASS is much more refined that the cx-300's! There is absolutely no competition for Sennheiser's quality for value products, and they will continue to lead for years to come....

**Updated**

Pros: GREAT SOUND that's equally balanced across the sound spectrum. Good BASS without overpowering the MIDS & HIGHS. VERY comfortable and inexpensive.

Cons: Thin cabling, no foam tips, and small carry case that's hard to fit everything.

These Sennheiser CX 95s are great earphones. Let me take a step back to give some perspective on this review. For the past couple months I've been on a quest reading reviews (on IEM's) everywhere I can. Reason being, you can't go to a store and try these things out to find what you like for what you want to spend?! I found the best professional reviews at trustedreviews.com, ilounge.com, cnet.com, earphonesolutions.com and digitaltrends.com. Also some good customer reviews here on Amazon.

Two of the best phones out their (that I've read about) are the Shure SE530's and Westone UM2's. For me, I can't get myself to pay $300 or more for a set of earphones?! If you have that kind of cash to spend have at it. I'm sure you'll be getting the BEST phones out their. I just can't see spending that kind of cash?

So my next quest was to try and get something GOOD for under $100. First I have the standard buds that come with the iPod Touch. Which we ALL know they're okay at best. My first earphone purchase was the "Bose TriPort In-Ear Headphones". Their comfortable and they have descent BASS and a full & wide overall sound. That BASS comes with a BIG sacrifice though. The high end and mids are TOTALLY FLAT and MUDDY. This is unacceptable in my opinion; they went back to Best Buy within a few days of tying them out. Next was the Shure SE110's. They were comfortable too and had a clear overall sound. The vocals were very much in front in their sound stage. For me the MID-RANGE was way to high, ear piercing and kind of annoying at mid to upper volumes. I needed to "EQ" it down a little bit. The high end was OK but it needed a little more detail to it. Now for the BASS it just didn't have enough and yes I had a good seal and tried every tip size they had. Like I said they're VERY comfortable just didn't have enough BASS for me and the MIDS were too high. That's an ongoing theme I've read in many reviews about 'Shure's'. I held off for about a week before these went back to Best Buy because they were descent (but not worth $100). Better than the Bose but honestly only slightly better than standard $30 iPod earbuds. The only part that's REALLY better is the sound isolation. Well after these two I was about ready to give up at the $100 price point. Then I started reading ALLOT more reviews about other brands. And I settled on these 'Sennheiser CX95s' at $60 from J&R here on Amazon. These are really good! They have a good quality sound across the board. They were comfortable; and they don't go deep in your ears like typical IEM's (such as the Shure's) which I like. They're still fair...
