These headphones are working great in my kindergarten classroom - they are sturdy and comfortable....

This review is from: Computer Headphone Microphone Combo with In-line Volume Control

I bought these to replace some broken headphones. I was drawn to this set because of the rope cord instead of plastic as those plastic cords get so tangled and break easily.

I was firstly surprised at the look of the headphones. There is a nice glittery type design where the logo is which makes these look really cool.

I also found them easy to adjust and really comfortable to wear.

Sound Quality - well it was a little less than I expected. It didn't make things very much louder than the computer level. I thought perhaps because it came with an adjustable volume that it would get quite a bit louder than it did.

Overall though its a great value for money purchase and I'd recommend these - if only for the rope cord which is great....

I got these in a timely fashion but when I got them, it was packaged in the yellow envelope with the bubble wrap, but had two sacks around it. I opened a sack and the package reaked like lysol, I assume this is the package handlers problem though.

Also, I open it, to find that the CORD is NOT fabric cord, but just a regular cord, which is not what I bought.

Sound quality isn't as good as I thought it was going to be. I give this a 5/10 considering i didn't get the headphones with a fabric cord. That is why I bought it :(...

This review is from: Genius HS-04SU (noise-canceling microphone) Headband headset with Noise-canceling microphone. In-line volume control.

I bought this headset for two reasons: its good reviews and its price.

The reviews were well-deserved, and the price was right. Its design makes it comfortable, attractive, and easily adjustable. The microphone is excellent -- I'm even using it for some amateur acoustic guitar recording until I can justify purchasing a nice condenser.

However, I still have some small problems with it. Its cord, at around 6.5 feet, is a little short for my purposes, but it's nothing crippling. Also, the sound isn't quite as "bassy" or "full" as I'd like it to be, but it is by no means low-quality -- especially for the price.

All said, this headset is a little gem; it is excellently priced and well put-together....

This review is from: Genius HS-04SU (noise-canceling microphone) Headband headset with Noise-canceling microphone. In-line volume control.

The mechanical design and the build quality are very good, not something you would expect from a $20 piece. The microphone quality is excellent, sound quality is good. However, the headband-headphones plastic joints are too loose, and you can't really adjust the length (size?) of the headband -- it is always at the maximum. It is not because my unit was faulty. I disassembled these joints to check -- it is by design. For me it is not really a problem, I would put it to the maximum anyway. But if you have a small head, you better try it first. But overall, I would highly recommend it.

P.S. Since it is NOT a USB headset, it is supported in Linux out of the box (many USB headsets have exotic built-in soundcards)....

This review is from: Genius HS-04SU (noise-canceling microphone) Headband headset with Noise-canceling microphone. In-line volume control.

The main problem is that, I cannot fix the position of microphone to each position that I want. The other problem is that I cannot fix the position of headset on my head, it isn't flexible....

Sennheiser PC 35-USB Binaural Headset with Microphone

Stereo sound for high quality accoustics and/or easy listening.

Built-in USB sound card

Adsjustable and pivotable mic boom

Noise cancelling mic for excellent sppech clarity and voice recognition by filtering out noise.

Plug and Play solution makes for effortless connection to PC or laptop.

The PC 135 headset is ideal for voice recognition, VoiP and internet telephony use and even for listening to music on your computer. The stylish design make it perfect for business or private use.

This review is from: Sennheiser PC 35-USB Binaural Headset with Microphone

I have used a number of headsets for voice-recognition and the Sennheiser PC 35-USB headset has an exceptionally good noise canceling microphone. In comparison with the other headset that I am using presently, the Jabra GN-5035, the Sennheiser's noise canceling ability is slightly superior. In terms of audio, both work fine. With respect to comfort level, the Jabra headphone is one of the most comfortable I've ever worn, with high-quality ear pads as well as a sturdy lightweight structure. Additionally, the Jabra has a cable attached to the side so it never it bothers my neck. While the Sennheiser is $14 more than the Jabra, its construction is flimsier and the cord is attached to both sides of the head set so that it comes into contact with my neck occasionally. Additionally, the ear pads are fairly thin. Overall, the Jabra is a better quality headset and a greater value. However, the Sennheiser has a slightly superior microphone, which is important for a frequent voice-recognition program user. This review was dictated with Dragon Naturally Speaking 9.5 using the Sennheiser....

This review is from: Sennheiser PC 35-USB Binaural Headset with Microphone

I've been using this headset for 6 months for internet radio broadcasting, and for better than a year for Skype interviews and so forth. I had several disappointments in microphone and ear bud combinations I tried -- most of which were supposed to be substantially higher-end equipment than this. After much experimentation and careful comparison of output however, it turns out that this headset outperforms all my other hardware.

I would rate the earphones as better than most. The fidelity of the earphones is relatively excellent, although I do have one set of ear buds which probably outperforms the Sennheiser PC 35 in fidelity.

But the Sennheiser's noise canceling microphone is the standout item here in my opinion. This microphone is *really good* for difficult application environments. I speak to many people over VOIP, and it's really prevalent how people will remark how clearly they can hear me. In fact, a discussion I just now concluded led to writing this review, because the person I was talking to wanted to know the make and model of my gear -- I had to look it up from my shopping history. Nonetheless, what can't really be evident on the listener's end is how well this noise canceling microphone filters out such substantial unwanted noise of many varieties. It's sensitive enough to pick up delicate sounds from articulated speech... but how it filters out loud intrusions and background noise is pretty impressive in my estimation.

In any case, I've compared it to a handful of lapel and other microphones, and from the recordings I'm getting, it's hard to imagine I'm going to improve upon the performance by shopping around further. You hear what you want with amazing clarity; and you just don't hear what you don't want -- be it a very loud refrigerator, or whatever. I mean, it can start raining a gale against the window, or a ton of snow can fall off the roof all of a sudden... and when you listen to your recording, it still sounds like you were in a studio.

This unit is light in weight. Pressure is light on your ears, and the cord is long enough to fish it around obstacles and to lead it to yourself so the cables won't fowl or make noise while you work.

I'm using the Sennheiser PC 35 with an iMac, sometimes from Windows XP running either independently in a Boot Camp partition or concurrently in VMWare Fusion. From any of these operating environments, there are no hardware or installation issues whatsoever. In fact, I use RogueAmoeba's free "SoundSource" utility to switch output environments real time. Integration is entirely trouble free. Just plug them in.

So I'm grabbing a second Sennheiser unit for a backup....

This review is from: Sennheiser PC 35-USB Binaural Headset with Microphone

The headset works very good with a Mac. When I first plugged it in to my Vista PC, it did not work. After some research on the web I found out, that the firmware of the headset needs to be updated in order to work with Vista. That's annoying, especially because they don't tell you, but you somehow you have to find out yourself. Otherwise a very good product....

This review is from: Sennheiser PXC 350 Active Noise Cancellation Headphone with Vol Control (Black)

I bought these headphones without actually holding them or testing them first, so I had no idea what to expect. I took them on a trip to Africa and was completely satisfied with them. So, here are my oppinions:

Sound: 5 stars. Could use a little more bass, but that can be changed with your equalizer. Noise Canceling: 5 stars. Took out all the engine noises and most of the talking around me. Comfort: 5 stars. They took a bit of getting used to, but after wearingthem for 10 hours stait, they are very comfortable. They also work without the noise canceling which is very nice. There is alittle white noise with the NC on, but all NC's have that. VERY sturdy feel, and nice case. Love them....

This review is from: Sennheiser PXC 350 Active Noise Cancellation Headphone with Vol Control (Black)

Almost perfect. I have been using noise canceling headphones since their commercial inception, mostly for air travel, and the Sennheiser PXC350 are the best sounding NC (noise canceling) headphones I personally have ever used. I have been carrying Bose NC over the ear headphones from product introduction, and prior to that Sony and others, logging many hours with different devices. Here's the difference; the Bose have slightly more cancelation of airplane engine noise, but they cannot compare to the clarity of the Sennheiser. To put it another way, the PXC350's have the flattest response, similar to my Etymotic canal phones, which I consider an excellent reference point. The difference was significant and noticeable to not only myself, but companion business travelers as well. One small issue; the earcups on the PXC350 are quite large. This permits a very comfortable fit but this may have also contributed the noise leakage due to the earcup not completly sealing against my head. I was able to adjust them so that they were fairly snug, but after time and subtle movements, I could feel that they were not making tight contact at the bottom below my ear. Therefore you may want to try them for fit, especially at this price point. But either way, I would not trade them for other models....

This review is from: Sennheiser PXC 350 Active Noise Cancellation Headphone with Vol Control (Black)

Review of the Sennheiser PXC 350 Noise Cancelling headphones.

These sound just like Sennheiser high-end headphones, very clear detailed sound. The only problem with that is, this unique "Sennheiser " sound is different than typical closed-ear headphones and not something that everyone may like. Before you buy these, make sure you like the "Sennheiser " sound. See if you can at least try out a high end pair of Sennheisers, even if they're not noise-cancelling, just to hear the sound. Sennheisers have really large cans with lots of air between the speakers and your ears. This might be preferable for classical music where you want an open airy soundstage, but personally, I didn't like this at all. To me, this ends up making the upper mid range sound just slightly wrong and distant sounding. I had the strange sensation that I was hearing music outside of the headphones. Typical close-ear headphones have the drivers closer to you ear and the sound is much clearer and directly injected into your head without any airy distance. This to me gives the most accurate transfer of music into your brain without any discoloration.

Another point about the Sennheiser is that the can diameter is very large, referring to the pad ovals that go over your ears. I might have smaller than average ears, and it was hard to get them to seal evenly over them. If I turned my head left or right a tiny bit, the pads would open a little, letting in noise.

I ended up getting the Audio-Technica ATH-ANC7, which sound much better to my ears. The ATH-ANC7s sound very much like the Bose QC2's but better in fact with a clearer high end. This search started because my old Bose QC2s broke. They are just too flimsy. I didn't want to get another set of QC2s because they had a slightly muted high-end. The ATN-ANC7s have a much clearer high end and sound really balanced.

If you know you like Sennheiser headphones, like that more open sound and are used to the larger cans, then by all means get these. They are built super high quality and have heavy duty parts and cable. I'd have no concerns about reliability, these things are rock solid. They do cancel noise very well, on equal par with the Audio-Technicas.

Hope this helps!

Jim...

This review is from: Sennheiser PXC150 Active Noise Cancelling Headphone

I'd been laboring under the impression these last few years that the whole 'noise cancelling' thing was a gimmick - then a friend thrust her Bose NC headphones on me for a trip.

I was amazed.

But at $300 the Bose units were just too pricey for me. I waited a while and bought my PXC150 with the Bose experience firmly in mind.

Comments: The tubular battery pack/control unit is a little clunky. Yes, the earcups don't envelope the whole ear, but rather sit on the ears. But the PXC150 has in my judgement 80% of the effectiveness of the Bose unit for 1/3 the cost. They work well and they are less bulky than the Bose units. They have a quality feel (as do the Bose) and it's just plain fun to put them on in a noisy restaurant, a clattering diesel, or any row higher than 24 in an MD80, and sit there like a grinning idiot flicking the on/off switch and marveling at the difference it makes.

An Ipod and decent NC headphones like the Bose or Sennheiser units can transform the business traveler's life....

This review is from: Sennheiser PXC150 Active Noise Cancelling Headphone

i like the sound, crips high's and mid, not a lot of bass, but sounds very nice, however, this baby is going back because the three drawbacks:

1) it's a mini headphone, my ear hurts after wearing if for extended time, this is more apparent if I compare it with my other headphones.

2) the noise cancellation unit is a pain, make the headphone only useful i I am stationary.

3) uses 2 AAA batteries, the noise cancellation is marginal and cost $$, and gives a slight hiss sound when turned on, which is sometimes annoying when between songs.

biggest issues is the earcup too small, also the ugly bad design of the noise cancellation unit....

This review is from: Sennheiser PXC150 Active Noise Cancelling Headphone

Bought this for a trip to Europe, as the sound of the jet engines is very distressing. Cannot believe what a difference they make. My only complaint is that the design could be better in that they could fold down to a smaller design as I have seen other noise cancelling headphones do....

UrbanEars Plattan Headphones (8075606) - Navy

Plattan OverEar Versatile, lightweight and collapsable, clean design with handmade 40mm drivers, microphone and remote, zound plug, and fabric cord

Urbanears promotes a deeper connection to color, form, people and sound, while providing the freedom to transcend individuality and unify the sound experience

UrbanEars Plattan Over The Ear Headphones For Iphone Ipod Touch Android - Navy

This review is from: UrbanEars Plattan Headphones (8075606) - Navy

I've wanted a pair of headphones like this for sometime now because these seem to las much longer than the little wire ones that go in or around your ear. I wanted a pair that wasn't too bulky, big, and overpriced which naturally ruled out the highly acclaimed Beats by Dre headphones. I wanted a pair that i could take around with me, that would fold, and look nice on me while i wear them. Well i found them! Urbanears won me over at a store i saw them at. If i had seen them here on Amazon first, i probably would have not bought them with previous comments, but i truly think if you are in any type of situation like I was in, then these are the headphones for you.

What I like:

Fits nicely on your head

Not too big not too small ear covers

GREAT SOUND!

Folds nicely

Comes in many colors to choose from.

Come with extra jacks for devices with diff mm inputs

What I dislike:

Does tend to get a little uncomfortable if worn for a long time, but what headphones don't. Nothing that would make me want my money back.

If you have studded earrings, they are tight enough to push the back pin into your skin. Nothing serious, but really uncomfortable. With proper placement it goes away.

It doesn't come with a built in volume adjuster, which isn't too much to ask for when the price is what it is

It wouldn't have killed them to make their brand name more visible on the product but this may be a good thing for those that do not like to advertise brand names.

What i love:

The phone headset feature! One button to start a call with voice calling (at least for those blackberry users), same button mutes, and ends call.

Crisp clean sounds of other person's voice coming in, and they can hear you better with the small mic feature.

I love the fabric cord! finally an upgrade from all the cheap little wires that get tangled and short out in a month.

The extra 3mm headphone jack so that a friend or partner can share in your music.

Overall:

A very good headphone set with minor technicalities but major features that i'm sure consumers will enjoy. As an avid Amazon prime customer, i just wanted to give back a review to those that need it in making their decision....

This review is from: UrbanEars Plattan Headphones (8075606) - Navy

Having spent a serious portion of my early life doing professional audio, I'm more than a little critical.

These are GREAT cans. Good audio response, small size, well thought out cabling.

I particularly like the choice of flexweave wire, and fabric covering. Super flexible,

and known to be quite durable. (If your cat doesn't chew through it.)

However, just as hats don't come in one size fits all...these and any other on-the-ear headphones

will be uncomfortable for some. For the record, my hat size is 7.5 (US) and my ears stick out

almost as badly as our current president's. And these are STILL comfortable, although I haven't

worn them for more than an hour at a time, so far.

For 60 bucks, you can't go wrong, particularly if you have an iPhone and want to be able

to take calls. I was forced to get my wife a pair, just to keep her from bogarting mine.

She settled on hot pink, not the purple. Mine are steel grey. The designer colors are a nice touch.

Reports of sound quality issues are simply misinformed. Or the product of hearing impairment.

I presently own 5 headsets. One for simple communications, two for studio narration work, and these.

These are simply the best I've owned or used in as long as I can remember.

For the price, you can't go wrong. Unless your hat size is a lot larger than mine, then they'll be tight,

and I advise something for over the ear, instead of on it.

...

This review is from: UrbanEars Plattan Headphones (8075606) - Navy

I wanted to like them, I really did. However, I am actually glad that my cat chewed through the cord so I can buy a different pair of headphones. They look cool and I didn't notice any sound quality problems, but don't take it from me. I'm hard of hearing and prefer to have higher frequencies screwed with because otherwise I can't hear them.

My problem is that for being "over the ear" headphones, they are extremely small and as a result, they are uncomfortable and become painful if they press on your ear for longer than a half-hour. If you like to wear headphones for longer stretches, you're going to fuss with them trying to figure out a way to wear them on your head so that they don't pinch your ears. Surprise: there is no such way! You're screwed!

The three stars for their looks and design only, and are not based upon the actual (very poor) execution. It is a nice idea to be able to plug-in another headphone set so someone else can listen to your music too, and I like the little button on the cord that can be pressed to play/pause music without having to go to the source....

Originally developed for professional musicians, the E2c combines Dynamic MicroDriver speaker technology with a sound isolating design to deliver rich, full-range sound while blocking outside noise -- ideal for enhancing your listening experience with portable MP3, DVD, and CD players as well as all other audio sources. The E2c's in ear design works like an earplug to block background noise naturally. This enables you to listen comfortably at lower volumes -- even in loud environments. And unlike bulky headphones utilizing active noise cancellation technology, no artifacts are introduced into your listening experience. Sound isolating earphones are also much smaller and don't require batteries. The E2c's speakers are constructed with studio-grade components, producing outstanding audio clarity that allows you to hear your music like never before. The E2c's cables pass behind the ear - out of sight and out of the way -- to provide a more comfortable, discreet fit. Plus, the E2c comes with a stylish, compact carrying case. The cable spool inside provides a convenient, tangle-free way to store your earphones.

I have used the Shure e2c earphones (the previous model) for about 2 years now. Impressions:

(1)The standard rubber plugs are not comfortable, and don't give very much noise isolation. The foam plugs are very comfortable and really seal out the noise. Be prepared to be grossed out by all the earwax you didn't realize you still had in your ears.

(2) Sound quality: 8/10. Not studio monitor quality, but very very good.

(3) Isolation: 10/10. Seriously. Use these on a flight and you'll gladly take a seat next to a screaming infant. Only problem is that you see the flight attendant's mouth moving as she asks you if you want a Coke or 7up, but you won't be able to hear her.

(4) When you first get them, you'll try putting them in your ears without success. Only after about the third try, all of a sudden the foam thingys go all the way inside, and you say, "So THAT'S how you put them in!" After that, piece of cake. You need to compress the foam just like you do with regular foam earplugs....

There are some inconsistent reviews on the sound quality of these earphones, basically it comes down to how you like to listen to your music. If you like to press "bass Xpand" button on your stereo for that booming sound ,you may be dissapointed with the "flat" sound coming out of these earphones. Those of you who keep that "direct" button on on your amps will love the clean ,detailed sound of E2c.Remember that most music is in the midrange frequency.Listening to dance/trance or hip hop, I sometimes wish for deeper bass. But true bass is difficult to reproduce in small earphones. The illusion of deep bass in some cheap earphones is just that...an illusion. As for the fit and comfort I have no complaints. If youre not sure whether you'll like insert phones, get yourself a pair of foam ear plugs and try to wear them for a while. That will give you an indication of how you're going to tolerate them. The only discomfort comes from the wraped cords around my ears after few hours of listening.

The quality is excellent, the cord is long and the case is nice. These will outlast a cheap pair many times over.Recommended....

I've had these for 1 year so I have plenty of experience with them. Here are my comments. Firstly, they are not great for those who are looking for an alternative to the active noise canceling headsets (e.g. Bose). If you travel on planes, go with Bose or Sony active. If you workout in a gym or run, I do not recommend. The fidelity is okay and they provide excellent isolation from the gym's music, but the cord is just too long. They get caught on equipment and once when running, they got caught on a bicycle going the other direction (the wire bounces). The ear buds also fall out when running which is super annoying. Most likely due to sweating, motion, and gravity (the way they hang over your ear). I highly recommend these for the OFFICE or for STUDY. I'm not overly impressed on the sound quality. Yes, if you find the ear buds that fit perfectly and you jam them in your ears, the sound is great and the bass is deep. But if you are in motion, the buds tend to retract from your ear canal and the bass vanishes. If you like hip hop or music with a lot of base, i find that they deliver distortion on the lows. Not very pleasing. As soon as I lose these or damage them, i will be looking for alternatives. I bought these based upon other reviews at the time and the name brand, but will do more research (actually trying various ones out and returning them if i don't like them). I use this on an IPOD video 5th generation...
