Controlling Phone calls
Press the button once to take a call. During the phone conversation press button once to mute, press again to resume. Press button for 2 seconds to end the call.
Controlling the Music
While listening to music clicking the button once will pause/resume the music.
Toggle between music/phone
If you get a call while listening to music just press the button once to take the call, it will automatically pause the music, when done with the call press again and it will resume where it ended.

It looks nice and fits in ears well, but....
The primary goal is to play music, and it fails miserably there. doing a back to back comparison w/ OEM earphones that came w/ ipod, this one sounds like a tin can, all treble, no bass or mid range, to the point of hurting my ears when I turn the volume up too high. This was one of the more expensive ones I found on line. I thought I would get what I paid for, but it's not worth the money....

Decent for the price, but they broke after a month! Absolutely no sound in the one of the ear buds!...

I ended up giving this to my son-in-law who has the same phone because, while the ear buds are small, they are still too big for my ears. Miserable for me to use because I have tiny ear canals. I had high hopes that this would work for me but it did not....
